Welcome to Sixth Form

Welcome to the Sixth Form at Loreto College, where student life is both exciting and challenging. Choosing to continue post-16 education here provides an excellent opportunity to become an independent, resilient and resourceful young person, ready to succeed in the fast changing 21st century.

We are a thriving co-educational community, justifiably proud of our excellent examination results and the large number of students who are accepted onto degree courses each year, including some of the most competitive subjects at the Oxbridge and Russell Group universities. We provide a wide variety of successful academic programmes and offer the opportunity to study a subject with one of our learning partner schools, allowing for a diverse range of options that follow both academic and vocational pathways.
Our Sixth Form students benefit from having a dedicated area of the school, the Elms Sixth Form centre, comprising of a common room and kitchen for socialising, a café and a range of study spaces. There are rooms with dedicated ICT facilities and WiFi access is available, allowing for independent and supported quiet study. Elsewhere on the premises, our Sixth Form enjoy exclusive student access to our Health and Fitness Suite, before and after school, at lunch and during free periods.
We encourage all of our students to contribute to the wider community and as a result they are regarded as leaders by younger pupils in our school. There are many opportunities to take on positions of responsibility within our school community. We select students to be part of our Student Leadership Team, allowing them to take a leading role in the school. There are further opportunities to become prefects, to represent the Sixth Form on the School Council or to lead extra-curricular clubs.
We are immensely proud of our Sixth Form students and are delighted that you are considering joining our supportive, successful community.
