Summer 2025
We are delighted with our 2025 exam results and proud of our students who worked so hard. We are also grateful for the hard work of staff and the support of parents in helping us achieve even higher results this year.

GCSE Results 2025
- 34% of exams were awarded 9-7 grades which is 526 qualifications at 9-7 standard
- Our students were awarded 117 grade 9s
- 76% of all GCSEs were awarded grades 9-5
- 83% of students were awarded at least 5 GCSEs at grades 4+ including maths and English
- 93% of students achieved grades 9-4 in English, with 85% achieving 9-5 and 37% 9-7
- 85% of students achieved grades 9-4 in maths, with 24% achieving 9-7
- We supported our students in taking 32 additional language GCSEs this summer with 24 of the students achieving a grade 9, and everyone awarded a grade 7 or above. (The majority of these students were not in year 11 and so we have not included these results in the figures above).
A-level Results 2025
- 47% of A level grades were A*-B grades with 21% at A*/A
- Our top A level subjects were maths at 25% A*+ and religious studies and geography with 58% and 42% A+ respectively
- The overall pass rate in A level subjects was 99.5%
- 84% of our BTEC students were awarded Distinction Merit or above with the remaining awarded Merit Merit
- AQA’s EPQ (Extended Project Qualification) was popular and 63% of grades were A*/A with everyone achieving B+
Summer 2024
GCSE Results 2024
- 36% of exams were awarded 9-7 grades which is 563 qualifications at 9-7 standard.
- Our students were awarded 115 grade 9s.
- 74% of all GCSEs were awarded grades 9-5.
- 85% of students were awarded at least 5 GCSEs at grades 4+ including Maths and English.
- 68% of students were awarded at least 5 GCSEs at grades 5+ including Maths and English.
- 96% of students achieved grades 9-4 in English Language, with 87% achieving 9-5 and 37% 9-7.
- 87% of students achieved grades 9-4 in Maths, with 70% achieving 9-5 and 26% 9-7.
- Our Biology/Chemistry/Physics students were awarded 19% grade 9s.
- 15% of grades in Religious Studies were grade 9 and 41% were 9 or 8, this is 64 grades in total.
- Congratulations to two of our students being awarded at least 10 grade 9s!
A-level Results 2024
- 50% of exams were awarded A*-B grades including 21% A*/A
- Our top subjects were Geography with 30% A* grades and Business with 25% A* grades.
- We had 8 students (11% of our A level students) with 3+ A* or A grades, including 2 with all A*s and 2 more with 2 A*s.
- The overall pass rate was 96%.
- For our BTEC students, 75% of grades were Distinction* or Distinction with all students passing the course.
- AQA's EPQ (Extended Project Qualification) was very popular and 69% were A* or A grades and 85% A*-B grades.
Summer 2023
In 2023, Loreto College was awarded a Progress 8 score of 0.78 In comparison the average for Hertfordshire was 0.19. This placed us in the top 5.6% of schools in the UK.

GCSE Results 2023
- Well over one third of grades were 7 or above.
- 110 grade 9s were achieved.
- 89% of GCSE grades achieved were at 4 or above.
- 84% of students were awarded 4+ in both English and maths.
- 95% of students obtained a grade four or higher in English.
- 53 students achieved the very top grades of 8 or 9 in Religious studies.
A-level Results 2023
Students at Loreto have the opportunity to study for A levels, AQA's Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) and Level 3 BTEC qualifications. The results below include the grades achieved in all of these.
- Over 50% of grades achieved were A*-B!
- For our best departments, over 35% of grades were A* or A, including Religious Studies, History and Geography.
- Our students were given the chance to take on AQA's Extended Project Qualification (EPQ), and well over half of these students were awarded A* or A grades - 67%. This looks great on personal statements and gives additional UCAS points.
- 83% of our BTEC students achieved double merit or higher (equivalent to A*- B grades), giving them access to excellent universities and other Higher Education options.
Summer 2022
In 2022, Loreto College was awarded a Progress 8 score of 0.83. In comparison the average for Hertfordshire was 0.17. This placed us in the top 3.4% of schools in the UK.
